A few months ago, I did a post on House Goals 2020. While we managed to pick a few off the list, there are still some left to accomplish. Stay tuned as I add them to our 2021 House Goals list.
The deck was high on our list last year but the price of lumber kept going up and we were dragging our feet so it didn’t get accomplished in 2020.
The deck at our last home was pretty amazing. Stay tuned for more on the deck project in our 2021 House Goals.
Another project on our list was a transom above the entry to the back hallway/kitchen. Unfortunately we have not done that.
But I would love to because the extra light in the hall would be amazing!
Still another project not done is the powder room. I’ve had a sample of this lemon and bees wallpaper for a few months now but we haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet.
The wallpaper is a little pricey so trying to figure out the best way to make it work for us both financially and design wise has been a struggle. And I’ll be real honest, I have been in a funk with this house. Still. But I’ve figured out a new wallpaper so this project will get kicked into high gear soon!
Another project on the list from 2020 was to do something with the front entry wall. Yup, that’s not been done either.
I wanted to wait to do the fireplace and see what we ended up doing as far as vertical shiplap, beadboard or board and batten. Now that the fireplace is done, maybe I will feel more inspired to do something.
Changing out the knobs and the faucet in the kitchen were also on our list. We accomplished half in 2020. For Christmas we received a gift card to Home Depot so we purchased a new faucet. The faucets I really wanted were more than we want to spend so this was a good compromise.
But it’s still way better than the cheap builder faucet. Now if they had only installed the garbage disposal on the larger/deeper side of the sink. Anyways, yet to do is replace cabinet knobs.
I really just want my Martha Stewart knobs from the old house but I’ve stalked ebay for months with no luck. If you have some links to good brass knobs, send them my way!
So what did we accomplish in 2020? I did paint the main floor, the upstairs hallway and stairway along with the stairway to the basement. I replaced the Agreeable Gray with Shoji White. Agreeable Gray was showing up like a cement gray with the flooring so we added some warmth to the walls.
Not on our list but a small project we did was add vertical shiplap to the landing wall in the basement stairway.
I’ve been on the hunt for some wall art but it’s been a tough search. Eventually we’ll find something to add here.
The big project we accomplished in 2020 was the fireplace!
Hoping to maybe blog more about it soon but for now, here is a fresh pic off the camera roll!
Not bad for moving in the beginning of June. We’ve managed to knock a few things off the list and have plans for more this 2021. That blog post will be out soon, after I finish finalizing the list with my hubby.
Did you finish any projects in your home in 2020? I’d love to know!
