ORC Week 3 Tile Inspiration Pics

October 22, 2015

Week 3, halfway through the challenge and I think we’re doing well so far.  You can catch up here on week 1 and week 2.

I’ve been without a toilet for over 2 weeks now and thankfully, I can pee in my own bathroom again.  I know, first word problem but seriously, marching down the hall trying not to fully wake up in the middle of the night to pee is no easy feat.

The hubby finished grouting our bathroom floor on Tuesday night and it looks amazing!  He has worked so hard on this bathroom floor, I hope he knows how much I love the floor and all his hard work!!!

The cabinets are painted and waiting for hardware which I have yet to decide on.  Unfortunately the hardware I decided on is no longer an option.  I was trying out a brass knob from the kitchen cabinets and brass is definitely where I am going on the vanity!

While I would love to show you the entire floor, we are saving it until the end because it’s a show stopper and I hate to share it so soon!  BUT, I will share with you some gorgeous inspiration tile that I considered when doing this challenge.

This is our bathroom tile Sovereign Stone from Lowes and these pics do not do it justice!   Seriously, I want to sleep on the bathroom floor.  That’s how much I love it.

This one from Home Depot has a little less definition and more of a marble look going on.

If you want something bold I think this one from Home Depot is fun but maybe not so much of it in the room.

This dark tile at Lowes is a show stopper, subtle but stunning!

This tile is a great neutral and what I would consider a classic floor tile.

We accomplished quite a bit this week in the bathroom and soon it will be onto the fun part, accessorizing!  Unfortunately, I’m still on the hunt for a shower curtain and the one I loved from Bed Bath and Beyond is out of stock and has been for a while.  I tried looking for it on ebay and amazon but no beuno.   So back to the drawing board.

Here’s the checklist of what we hope to accomplish and what we have accomplished so far.

That sneak peek is pretty amazing! I bet you are thrilled. I would like to use my master bathroom toilet too, but as you saw, we are not at all there yet. By the way, what brand of grout did you use? I’m still debating and probably obsessing over the choice.

I can’t believe I didn’t respond sooner! Sorry! We used the TeK power grout from Lowes, in the mist color. My hubby did the grouting but I think he liked it. Good luck, I hate picking out stuff like that!

Yeah for having a toilet back! I’m totally with you that it’s a pain when something as simple as having to use another bathroom interrupts your normal life. Having half our clothes upstairs right now is also no good! Can’t wait to see your floor!

I love that vanity color and from the little bit of tile I’m seeing, I think it’s going to be amazing! Bummer on that shower curtain. That was my favorite of the ones you showed last week, BB&B too. You’ve got some time. Good luck this week and way to get so much accomplished!!!

Thanks Erin! 🙂 I’m still not finding a shower curtain but I’ll continue the search or make a bigger bath so I can buy the one we love in the bigger size.

Be sure to let your husband know how many women out there are coveting your talented, hardworking partner!
Had you considered purchasing a plain white cotton shower curtain and adding the Greek key trim, such as this:
