Master Bedroom Progress Week 3

October 16, 2014

Well, this week has minimal progress and it was already done two weeks ago because we are on vacation this week!

So I’m losing out on a week of getting stuff done but I did find a pillow on vacation so that counts for something, right?  Here’s a refresher of where we are headed with our bedroom.  You can catch up on week 1 and week 2 here.  Also catch some sneak peeks  of the bedroom on my instagram!

This is what the windows looked like a few weeks ago.  When we bought the house it had a lot of cellular/honecomb style shades in the bedrooms and also in the dining room and front living room.  I’m not a big fan of these, they are dust collectors and I don’t think they block that much light.  The shades have started to break as you can see in the photo, the middle one no longer is able to go up.  No amount of viagra is fixing it.

While in Lowes the other week, I found some bamboo blinds on clearance, the same ones I installed on the main floor a few months ago.  After a few texts and measuring from the hubby (his working at home has many benefits, including measuring a window quickly for me while I am at the store), I scooped up some clearance bamboo shades for our bedroom at $12 each, originally $40.  I love a good deal!

I grabbed some quick photos before I had curtains up so it looks not the best at the moment but better than shade that doesn’t retract!

I still need some curtains and have yet to find some but this week I’m hoping as we pass through 8 or 9 states  that a TJ MAXX/Homegoods/Marshalls/Target will have something for me!

I also found this cute rug at TJ MAXX for the sides of the bed and thanks to the dollar store and Hobby Lobby, I put together this candle display for less than $15.

Here’s where I left it.  It’s coming along nicely but we definitely need a headboard!

The schnauzer loves the rug too, she thinks it is just for her!

Items I am not sure on:

Hahaha…I love your joke about the shades…had me cracking up. I was away on vacation as well, so I missed out on doing anything for a week. Good luck.
