Hey friends, how is the beginning of summer treating you?   It’s been really going great here so far, usually the first few weeks are an “adjustment period” because the mom and kids are trying to get used to sharing and being around each other all the time.

Now that we know we are staying in our home, it’s time get some stuff done, like refinishing our kitchen floors, ripping up the nasty carpet in the dining room and adding hardwood.  Who puts carpet in the dining room?  Seriously, it’s as bad as carpet in the bathroom!

The hard part is going to be picking a new stain color for the floors but I’m excited to get this done!  I actually don’t mind the color of the floors now that all the trim, doors and cabinets are painted but I also wouldn’t mind something a little darker too.

The dining room will get a new paint color and really a whole new look, I may paint the piano or move it to another room, switch up the curtains, maybe the lighting, add wallpaper or moulding perhaps,  who knows!  I’m not even sure what direction I want this room to go in but I am thinking white walls or just lots of white for sure but then white and colorful or white and natural?   Hmmm…….here’s some inspiration I’m loving!

In other news, I’m SO excited to partner with Leslie from Goodbye House Hello Home on this project as she’ll be visiting me and we thought it would be fund to redo a room together!  So stay tuned, in August sometime I’ll be blogging about all our fun and revealing the new dining room!!
