Well friends, it’s been a hot minute. The fireplace is done and I’m hoping to post about that soon. Somehow we managed to finish it up after Thanksgiving and we were able to enjoy a beautiful fireplace during the Christmas season. The girls were home from college and it was really nice to just hang out. Unfortunately after New Years, covid came calling to our home. Three out of four of us had it. I would say, it was very much like the flu. Thankfully it’s over with and we are all doing well. Somehow the older three managed to not get it so that was good. While sitting in the living room for most of the day and staring at the kitchen/living room set up, I decided it was time to make some changes. This is what the kitchen looked like when it was the model home.

We’ve been in our home for 8 months now. The kitchen/dining room furniture from the old house was fine while we settled in but it’s time for something new.

After throwing around a few ideas, I put together a mood board and if the table matches my chairs, I think we have a winner. I’ve gone back and forth on painting the island. I may even just pick a slightly different shade of green. But I have loved all the touches of green in here.

The color of the flooring in this house is probably the thing I hate the most. It’s grayish tones makes it difficult to design around. But not pictured in my mood board is the fireplace tile which pulls all of this together.

So fingers crossed the table arrives and matches my dining chairs. And also, that I love it. Furniture is really back ordered right now, in some cases until September. So if you’ve been thinking about new furniture, now is the time to shop because it may be a few months before it arrives. Have you been working on any rooms or projects in your home? I would love to know!
