Kids Bathrooom ORC Link Up Week 5

May 1, 2014

Week 5 and I really don’t have much new to report on the bathroom from the last week.    I did repaint the vanity Desert Twilight which is what I used on my lower kitchen cabinets.  It seemed like a good match with the gray stripe on the shower curtain but now, I’m not so sure.  It doesn’t look bad but I don’t love it either.

I feel like this photo gives a better representation of the cabinet color and counter top.   Granted the vanity needs another coat of paint if I stick with this color.

I’m going to sit on it for a few days.  I really had envisioned a lovely bright green vanity in here with the sand colored counter top and tile on the floor.   I have a few pinned on my ORC Bathroom Pin Board and one of those is from Kat who blogs at A Blessed Life atop A Cupcake Stand.  She painted her honey oak vanity a fun and bright shade of  green, kind of like what I am thinking of doing.

The other quandry for this room is the mirror.  Right now it’s an oil rubbed bronzish looking thing.  As you can see, we are also waiting for the lighting to be installed.  I found a great light on clearance at Lowes for $20!  Can’t wait to pick it up and get it installed!

Even though this bathroom has been a pain to do as I really don’t have a clear vision, it is looking a lot better already, even with shiny mirror like bead board.

The checklist for finishing up the bathroom is as follows:

Take down shiny bead board

Put up Board & Batten

Paint walls and B&B

Add hooks for towels

Install light fixture

Install towel bar and toilet paper holder

New knobs on vanity

Hang art work & other stuff

Create the “other stuff” for the bathroom

Possibly re-paint the vanity

Possibly paint the ceiling the same color as the walls above the B&B

Have a drink or 5 when I’m done.

Angie, at first glance I envisioned the vanity in green as well :-). That was after you said you did not love it. I am happy you are pondering taking that route…Good luck. I love that shower curtain, by the way…think I said it before..lol
