Gray Kitchen Inspiration

It all started innocently enough.  I was browsing pinterest when this pin from HGTV popped up in my feed.  As soon as I saw it, I wanted my cabinets to be a dark gray even though I just painted them white not more than a year and half ago.  So while I contemplate if I want to put myself through hell painting my kitchen cabinets for a third time in 4 years, I thought I’d share some gorgeous gray kitchens with you all.  Remember to pin from the website and not my blog please!

Naomi at Design Manifest is one of my FAVORITE designers to follow, her work is always amazing!
Check out this gorgeous kitchen and then make sure you go to her site and see the before, your jaw will drop, I promise!  Now I know this isn’t technically an all gray kitchen but I had to include it as it’s one of my favorite kitchens!  I want all of it, the brass lighting, the hardware, the wall of windows over the sink, even the hydrangeas on the island and the lemons in the bowl, this kitchen was made for me!

Again, brass, glass uppers, subway tile and gray cabinets!

Jenna Sue Designs did a great job with this kitchen and part of the reason I love it is because the window wall is simple.  I would love to take down the cabients around my window and make the window over the sink even bigger!

I could totally lose the cabinet to the right of my sink and either do shelving or leave it empty and just tile the wall.  The cabinet to the left is connected to the cabinet by the microwave so that causes a bit of a problem.

Hopefully by this time next year we will be replacing our worn out laminate counter tops and maybe doing a mini kitchen renovation.  I would love to replace the upper cabinet doors with some glass doors and door frames that look like the lower cabinets, along with possibly raising the cabinets to the ceiling and then adding a real back splash.

Now to debate, leave the cabinets white, paint the lower cabinets gray again or paint them all gray?  Have I mentioned I hate cleaning off my white cabinets and that I live with 4 kids, 2 dogs and we like to host?  What would you do?

Are you as crazy as I am?  Anyone want to come paint cabinets with me?

You can find more kitchen inspiration on my pinterest board as well!

  1. I just painted my lower cabinets gray and left the upper cabinets white. I love how it looks! I think you should repaint your lower cabinets gray. I also love the idea of removing the cabinets by your sink and adding shelving. If we lived closer to each other I would totally come help you paint!

  2. I fell into the internet rabbit hole and ended up on your site. LOVE your kitchen! I’m in the planning stages of painting my upper cabinets white and lowers grey ….mostly as a cosmetic upgrade until a full kitchen remodel is in the budget (another 5-6 years hopefully). I’ve always been a little scared of having white cabinets, but I can’t seem to find one blogger that complains about the clean up?! That is until I read your post. 😀 In perusing your other blog posts (specifically the one about your herringbone back splash), you asked if anyone had any luck painting laminate counter tops. I plan on using Giani Granite paint once I get my cabinets painted. I’ve been reading up the internet from bloggers who have had great success with it. I love the look white marble look that can be created! Love your blog (from what I’ve read so far) and can’t wait to continue to follow you. You gave me great inspiration for my white/grey cabinets!
