Christmas Tablescape 2011

I posted this yesterday with Lisa at Before Meets After 12 Crafty Days of Christmas but I wanted to also post it on my blog and also link up with No Minimalist Here!

While I love all this fun, kid friendly Christmas decor I do sometimes crave some adult, breakable, beautiful Christmas decor too. So this year I decided to pretty up my dining room table. I broke out the china we registered for when we were married along with the gold rimmed wine glasses, we need to use this stuff more often.  I even found this awesome chair at Savers for $12. I love how it looks at the head of the table!  Beware of picture overload, I captured some more pictures this morning with the sunlight glinting off all the glass and love it!

I found some wallet size picture frames and added some black and gold checked wrapping paper inside of them.

I purchased some burlap from Hobby Lobby for $5 and layered my white Shabby Chic runner on top.

The lanterns and the candle sticks are from IKEA.  I used some tree garland,  pine cones and colored bulbs that I had from last year around the IKEA candle sticks.

Finally, I found this mercury glass tree at Marshalls but sadly they only had one left. I added this cool vintage glass bowl on a gold candlestick I found at Savers and a mercury glass votive from Target all wrapped in garland with some more pinecones and bulbs.  Are you sensing a theme here?

I tried to use what items that I had around my home and what I did purchase I found thrifting, tried to use a coupon or purchased on sale.

I really enjoyed putting this table together and having a little adult space in my otherwise kid friendly environment.  It was fun and I think I am going to try my hand at tablescaping again! Maybe next time I’ll include the siverware too! My plain jane everyday stuff just didn’t look quite right with the table decor and place settings so know I’m going to be keeping my eye out for some fun mis-matched but “fancy” silverware!

Hi…I'm Nann from atnannstable.blospot.com. What a beautiful tablescape. Truly lovely. My first time here and I'm so glad I came. I saw it on No Minamalist Here blog party. Thanks for posting it.

Love it. The sunlight was nice! I love a giant chair at a table. What a score! The color is great and looks so pretty with the blue ornaments. Very adult 🙂

Hey girl, before I forget, I finally bought me some 'fancy' silverware for my birthday this year on the Foundary. You should keep them in mind because they have great prices! { I can send you a link, so I can receive a gift for you signing up 😉 that is if you haven't already } It's so exciting to have a set of 8 of everything! This is the first time in our married life of almost 18 years that we have a nice set of silverware. I inherited my Grandmother's silver recently which I am grateful for and was able to use last Christmas for our formal dining room. Your room is completely divine! Seriously, I love your style and am so glad you share it with us. I especially love how frugal you are too…it's right up my alley! You continue to amaze me with your dresser makeover skills. And of course I am thrilled to death with the blue chair you got at an incredible steal of a price! You are all set for a party now! I'm going to repaint my formal dining room after Christmas. Can't wait to get rid of the sea foam green I quickly chose when we were building our house. Sorry for such a long comment. Happy Friday! Hugs!

Wow, Ange, it looks so beautiful! Straight out of a magazine! Can I just get a carbon copy of that room for my house? =)
