My Little Man’s Bedroom Project – Before

My friend Lisa from Shine Your Light is hosting a before and after party every month. You link up your project in the beginning of the month and then on the last Friday of each month we come back and link up the afters!
I’m showing up a little late to the party but better late than never, right? Part of the reason I’m late is I couldn’t decide what to wear what room to do.  First I thought maybe the Master Bedroom could be the February project, then I debated maybe it could be the Master Bath but I’ve finally settled on our little man’s room. A few days ago I posted how I came across a steal of a deal at Goodwill for my little guy’s room. Then I found a gallon of paint for $5 at Menards that just happened to match the bins for his room.
Here is what the room looks like now, ugly green paint, oak trim and an out of place gray nightstand.I can’t believe his room has been this color for the past 8 months since we moved in.  I can’t stand this color,it makes his room feel really dark, small and depressing.  (I hope you like my keeping it real pictures).

Ideally my budget for this project is $100 but I have a feeling it will be closer to $150.  We are replacing all the doors in our home with six panel white doors and painting all our trim white.   I won’t include the cost of the doors in this project seeing as they will get done eventually and are not considered part of this room  makeover but it would be nice to get the doors done while I am working on this room.  If I have time, I will work on his closet too but we’ll see what I can get done this month without looking like this:

Wish me luck and looking forward to seeing what everyone accomplishes this month! It’s not too late to come link up with me if you are needing some accountability in getting a project done!
