Blooming Blogger: Tiffany at Living Savvy

June 18, 2012

Hey y’all!  I’m down south in Nashville for a few days before heading to Haven!  Last night the waitress at the Waffle House said her son is “Fixin to be the three years old soon.”  I’m loving the southern drawls, the y’all and fixing.  Today we are off to sight see and have some fun!
Call me a bum blogger, I was supposed to post my Blooming Blogger on Friday.  Picture me, running around at 90 mph packing, cleaning and trying to print off business cards before 2:30pm so we can head out of town.  I totally forgot to post poor Tiffany’s Blooming Blogger post and feel like a giant schmuck!  So today, I am posting it and I hope you’ll give Tiffany some extra love!
Tiffany blogs at Living Savvy, you may be familar with her Spray Painters Anonymous series which is really fun, she posts every Friday   featuring talented bloggers sharing their love of spray paint.  Tiffany also has a design business and shares her clients projects, my most recent favorite is actually her parent’s living room, you need to go check out this before and after.
Let me stop talking and let Tiffany share a little more about herself!  Take it away Tiffany!
How did you come up with your blog name?
My design business name is Savvy Design West.  I started my blog to market my design business and share easy DIY’s, design tips and easy ways to make everyday life more savvy.  So it was sort of easy to come up with Living Savvy.  Though I have kept it pretty focused on interior design, I would like to branch out to recipes and more ways to stay savvy in everyday life.
Name one thing you can’t do that you wish you could.
I wish I could draw renderings.  Despite going to design school, I still can not draw a straight line with a ruler!
Favorite item in your home?
I love two things the most in my house.  They are both amazing bargains I found for super savvy prices.
This dresser I found at a local thrift store for $50!  I removed the top drawers and created my Mid Century Modern Credenza.  It felt so good to grow up from my Ikea entertainment center!
About 5 years ago the hubs and I were walking out dogs and we passed by a garage sale. I spotted this Eames lounge chair toward the back of garage.  It was marked $10!!
Favorite app on your phone?

I am loving the app HeyTell.  It is a voice text app!  It is so easy to use!  I also love my Pinterest app!  Never bored with that!

What is your favorite board on your Pinterest?
Wow!  That is a hard one!  I love all of my boards! {see HERE} But if I had to pick I would choose my DIY To try page or For OUR House page.  Since we are building a new house I am constantly on the look out for things I will want for it!
What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a magazine stylist.  I actually still do!  I think that it would be fun to create the images in the magazines!  OR a set designer!

Best blogging advice for new bloggers?

Keep on keeping on.  It may be hard to write a blog and then feel like no one reads it, because no one comments!  It will take awhile, but with consistency and comments on other like blogs you like to read, they will come!

Thanks so much Ange for have me!

Thank you Tiffany for stopping by and dealing with my posting issues!  Ok everybody, head over and give some love to Tiffany at Living Savvy!  She’s an awesome blogger with a great sense of style and is always finding the best thrifted furniture and accessories.   I’m loving the credenza and the chair and I could go on and on!  She’s also super funny and a sweetheart too, you won’t be disappointed you follow her blog!

I love that Southern way as well. So nice to learn a bit more about Tiffany. Seeing her score on the eames chair makes me want to run to a thrift store right now!!!
