A Powder Room That Packs a Colorful Punch

March 23, 2021

If you remember a few weeks ago I left the Powder Room Project hanging. We had the wallpaper up, the bead board installed and the pedestal sink was taken down.

This was before we left for Texas on February 22nd. Fast forward to last Friday, after ordering the Allen & Roth Cameron Vanity that had been out of stock on Lowes.com the day before delivery I received an email that the order was cancelled. After calling the Lowes customer service number a few times and talking to some unhelpful people, I connected with Bob who did an outstanding job helping me. He found this vanity in stock at a Lowes an hour away, called the store and had them hold the vanity for me. Thank you Bob!

So my hubby and I drove to get this vanity which is again out of stock online. And I will say, this vanity was worth the drive and then some! My only complaint is the color online and on the box itself does not match the vanity color.

Thankfully, the vanity color pulls some of the blue berry color out of the wallpaper so it works really well in the space. The wallpaper is from Photowall and was so easy to install. In fact, I am definitely planning to wallpaper a few more spaces in our home and will be using Photowall again.

This vanity comes with two sets of hardware and the sink top. The Allen & Roth Harlow Faucet was an extra $100 but honestly, this vanity looks amazing and was well worth the hassle. It’s so nice to have somewhere to set a curling iron or phone, storage for toilet paper and other miscellaneous items.

This bathroom always felt really dark. The only light is above the sink and because of the layout the toilet area doesn’t get very bright. Adding the bead board has definitely helped to lighten it up!

This past weekend we caulked, filled in nail holes and painted the bead board Alabaster to match the shiplap out in the back entryway.

This back entryway/powder room area has come a long way in the past few months! In this pic we had already replaced the light in the hall and powder room but it was still really bland.

I am debating painting the door and need some art above the hooks but honestly, this has more character than when we moved in.

This powder room project has been my favorite so far in our home. The bright and bold colors are giving me life! This room is 95% complete, I’m on the hunt for a small oriental rug for in front of the vanity and then it is 100% finished.

After this, I really think designing bathrooms might be my favorite! Good thing there are three more left in our home that could use some personality! Hold on while I go add them to the 2021 house project goals. What’s your next project? Anyone else going to be doing some wallpapering?
